The 7th Strategic Energy Technology Plan (aka SET-Plan) took place in Rome, 10-11 December, and included the participation of Teresa Ponce de Leão, President of LNEG and Vice Chair of EERA
More than 650 of the most relevant energy stakeholders and representatives of national and EU institutions from across Europe and beyond gathered on December 10th and 11th in Rome at the 7th Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan) Conference. The two-day conference - organized by ENEA (Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development) with the collaboration and support of the European Commission - was a major event in the programme of the Italian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The conference offered the opportunity for in-depth discussions on the developments of the SET-Plan towards an Integrated Roadmap and Action Plan addressing research & innovation challenges and needs of the EU energy system.
Teresa Ponce de Leão, President of LNEG, had an active participation on this Conference, as she integrated the Panel debate From Strategy to Implementation: The Action Plan and participated on one side event. Energy and Earth’s underground – Multiple sources and storage options, was a side event organized by EERA JP Geothermal Energy. The approach for the side event was to discuss with the invited panelists how new technologies are vital to ensure the security of energy supply. As such, it offered strategic focus on specific themes, from the perspective of Research, Industry, University and other relevant stakeholders involved in the implementation of the Integrated Roadmap. About the Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan)
The 7th Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan) Conference offers a unique opportunity for all stakeholders and representatives of national and EU institutions to have in-depth discussions on the new developments of the SET Plan towards an Integrated Roadmap and Action Plan addressing research & innovation challenges and needs of the EU energy system.
The strategic role of universities in the SET-Plan, was organized by European University Association (EUA). The UNI-SET (UNIversities in the SET-Plan) project, promoted by the EU under the 7thFP, aims at mobilising the research, innovation and educational capacities of universities towards the "energy" challenge. The event, in collaboration with the KIC Innoenergy, will launch the UNI-SET project to the SET-Plan community, to specifically disseminate the objectives and seek the engagement of relevant universities and stakeholders.
